Ed Colman (MEL)

Ed Colman is one of Australia’s widest reaching DJs with his enviable position as host of ‘Party People’, the dance music show aired on Australia’s Southern Cross Austereo network. Party People reaches over 54 stations nationwide and 600,000 listeners weekly. Ed shares a high profile on air alongside Australia’s number one female DJ, Havana Brown and international celebrity, DJ and presenter Ruby Rose.

Ed has supported Flo Rida on his recent Australian tour as well as local artists including Zoe Badwi, Sneaky Sound System and Marvin Priest. He was chosen by Pioneer to launch the CDJ 2000 in Australia.

From the age of 16 Ed worked as an intern in London’s recording studios learning his trade from some of the UK’s best sound engineers and producers. After working huge shifts in the studio, he would head out to DJ at London’s clubs and parties each weekend.

By the time he was 17, Ed was snapped up by world famous DJ, and music producer ‘Jazzie B’ of ‘Soul II Soul’. Whilst working for Jazzie he engineered sessions for some of the world’s biggest producers and some of the UK’s most successful recording artists.

Ed Colman was the official DJ for the ACRA’s (Australian Commercial Radio Awards) in 2010, and the official DJ for Take 40’s Stars Of Summer TV show in 2011, shot at a 20 million dollar mansion on Sydney harbor. This event was screened multiple times on channel GO and MTV.

Ed has an extensive production back catalogue and a recent collaboration with Carl Cox, topped the Beatport techno charts for no less than 10 weeks.

Ed has built a solid reputation as one of Australia’s hottest DJs, touring nationally and mixing the Wild Summer compilations for 2011 and 2012, which have debuted at number 5 on the ARIA charts and number 2 on the iTunes album charts. He has played extensively throughout clubs in Australia and at festivals.

His flair on the decks has people clambering for him to spice things up at their big events, providing the soundtrack for launch parties including Slide for FOX 8 and THE NEW MOTION PARTY powered by the Hyundai Accent staring Aloe Blacc.

Ed Colman has become the sound of the nations airwaves every Friday & Saturday night.
